We arrived in Jackson, MS last night and got checked into our hotel. After two days on the road, it was good to sleep in a nice bed! This morning, Cindy and I walked downstairs for breakfast and the day began.
The local paper, the Clarion Ledge, ran a very nice article in WEEKENDER about the upcoming show. I’m hopeful that it will generate some last minute ticket sales.
Today, I’ve been working hard on wrapping up the freight details of our upcoming European tour. There are so many details that have to be taken care of when you’re moving several tons of equipment from the US to Spain…Italy…Romania…and Turkey. I’m booking flights for the team, trying to get quotes for the freight, and working with the promoters in each country to get the marketing in place. I spent a good part of the morning talking to the freight company trying to finalize the details.
This afternoon, however, I got to have some fun. Stacy Honzas, the program director at the Jackson Academy Performing Arts Center, picked up Chase and I and took us over to the Batson Children’s Hospital. I spent about 90 minutes teaching the Child Life Specialists how to incorporate magic into their practice to work with children in their care. The local ABC affiliate, WAPT 19, also stopped by to cover the event. As always, it was a fun and inspiring experience. Here’s the grow of Child Life Specialists we worked with:
Tomorrow, we head over the Performing Arts Center for the show!
