We had a great show last night in San Ramon, CA. Â This is a brand new theatre – open for less than a year – and it’s always a privilege to be a part of the first season of events!
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to use our hazers in the venue because they haven’t quite worked out the “fire alarm” system. Â That would mean we couldn’t use our intelligent lighting either BUT those are all the “bells and whistles” that we like. Â Luis and his crew worked very hard to help us get the show in and up before 7pm.
It didn’t matter that we were limited in our production. Â The show still has some very strong illusions in it – and the audience didn’t seem to mind at all. Â They were a great crowd!
I had leave during the day to get Ethan to a doctor. Â He’s been battling some sort of upper respiratory thing since we arrived in Redding. Â In the past two days, it got really bad and his fever started spiking around 104. Â Crystal – the theatre manager – made him an appointment. Â We set up as much as we could and then Cindy and Keith took over our responsibilities as well as their own. Â We made it back by 5pm with prescription in hand for some heavy-duty antibiotics!
I almost forgot – you’re read about our friend Steve Chezaday from Naperville, IL. Â He drove up to visit with us and see the show in Madison, WI at the Overture Center. Â A friend of his named Carol came to see the show in San Ramon. Â She introduced herself afterwards and told me she wanted to help out with the Spikes of Doom! Â I’m sorry she didn’t get that chance – maybe next time.
Thanks to everyone in San Ramon for making our time there fun and memorable!
