Once again, we were up early and on the road by 7:45am. Â We had a lot of ground to cover today – Texas is a big state! Â We pulled back onto I-10 West and headed for the West Texas desert. Â We drove through Houston and toward San Antonio before it was time for lunch. Â In the small town of Sequin, just outside San Antonio, we decided to stop for lunch at one of our favorite Texas fast-food chains – Taco Cabana!
The unmistakable giant pink sign is hard to miss along the interstate. Â We pulled over (lots of big parking close by) and went in for lunch. Â I called Cindy to let her know because she really loves this place. Â We ordered our food and ate quickly to get back on the road.
This was Ethan’s first Taco Cabana experience…but won’t be his last. Â He loves Mexican food and we stop here a lot when we’re in Texas.
Once back in the truck, we drove through San Antonio toward our evening destination – Fort Stockton, TX. If you’re looking at a map, that doesn’t seem all that far. Â Trust me, it’s a long, long way! Â I twittered several times during the day and was surprised at how many people responded from my FaceBook posts. Â It was very cool to stay in touch with people like this on a long drive.
Many hours later, we finally arrived in Fort Stockton. Â It looked like a much larger town on the map! Â Not all that big. Â We walked down to the local Walmart to pick up a few things and then ate at the KFC/Taco Bell just next door to the hotel. Â Today, we knocked off another 641 miles from our total.
