It was a very busy day in Fremont. Â I was up early, Cindy fixed some breakfast, and Ethan and I were on our way to our first workshop of the day at one of the elementary schools. Â First, I conducted a workshop with the special education teachers to fill them in on the HOCUS FOCUS program. Â Next, the students came into the room and we started exploring the magic. Â Everyone had a great time and teachers could clearly see strengths and weaknesses of each student – a great evaluation tool.
We wrapped up around 12noon, just in time for lunch. Â Ethan and I went back to the Gerber House and picked up Cindy and Keith. Â We walked down the street to the Koffee Kupp Cafe. Â The food was amazing and the homemade apple pie was indescribable!!
After lunch, it was time to get ready for the second workshop of the day at the local assisted-living complex. Â Ethan and I arrived around 3pm and sat down with the activities and therapy staff for a quick overview of what we would be doing, HEALING OF MAGIC. Â Once the clients arrived, it was a room filled with laughter, fun, and exercises that will improve the quality of their lives. Â Many of them said they couldn’t wait to show their families. Â Just check out a couple of these images!
After this workshop, Diane brought us back to the Gerber House. Â We changed clothes, did some work in the truck, and then went to explore for dinner. Â Keith decided to stay in and find food later. Â After driving around Fremont, we ended up back at the Koffee Kupp Cafe! Â We sampled some other items on the menu and, yes, came back for more pie!
While we were there, one of the local music groups started bringing in their equipment. Â They set up quickly for a night of music (from 7pm to 9pm) and we sat and enjoyed a few tunes.
Full of food (and way too much sugar), we drove back to the Gerber House for a relaxing night. Â Tomorrow night we perform.
