The Ham Steak in the Marketplace
This morning, Friday, started early for all of us. I had to conduct a Healing of Magic workshop at Baptist Oi Kwan Social Services as a part of their ongoing research project on using magic tricks in treating mental illness. They’ve just completed a two year research project and presented the results at an international conference on Mental Health last week which was held in Hong Kong. They presented their review of 40 clients who participated in the project and the positive results they experienced. My session with them today was a continuing education program that will give them the tools they need to expand the program in their facility. We had an exciting group of occupational therapists and social workers present and we all had a great time! This is one of the most rewarding things that we do.

After the workshop, we had some meetings and interviews do deal with and then met up with Anita Wong, a young lady we met on our last visit to Hong Kong. She was very kind and took us out for some Japanese treats. It was a friendly, but brief, visit before we had to get to other commitments. We also met up today with Katy! Katy was our technical liason for our last tour here and she has become a wonderful friend! Some of you may recognize her from our ASIA dvd.
Tonight, once all the tasks of the day were completed, we headed out to the Temple Market! This is an amazing experience that’s difficult to put into words. This was a very different place than where we went last night (in search of a video camera). The shopping was great and we all picked up a few bargains, especially in the clothing department.

Tomorrow if my first real “day off” with very few commitments. I’m looking forward to seeing some of the sights of Hong Kong while also trying to deal with the constantly surprising requests for my time that keep coming up…but we are having a great time.
