The show tonight at Leach Theatre went extremely well! We were sold out and they had to turn people away at the doors. I never like it when we have to turn people away but it’s always so motivating when we know it’s a sold out performance. And the audience was incredible – responsive, verbal, expressive, and exciting. It was everything you hope for in a performance.
The crew here is also so professional. Under the direction of Shelley Dotson, each of these guys (Keith, Brett, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Mike, Cory and Nigel) did an outstanding job for us. They worked hard and the show went up quickly, plenty of time to each dinner before the doors opened!
The day got started a bit rough. The lift on the truck wouldn’t work (without it, we can unload the trailer) and David broke his key in the lock on the trailer! Once we arrived at the venue, David was able to get the broken key out of the lock and several guys used their “strength and weight” to release the lift gate. The equipment was free! Shelley called an electrician who came over to work on the finding the reason why the lift gate wasn’t working while the trailer was being unloaded. Turns out it was something kind of simple – a flipped breaker that I didn’t even know existed. You learn something new everyday.
We’re off to Glasgow, KY now for a matinee show on Sunday. Nice article in the Bowling Green, KY newspaper: http://www.bgdailynews.com/articles/2006/02/09/features/stories/feature10.txt
Have a great weekend….
