Keith and I have been in New York City the last several days.  We had a great time, worked through some very important meetings, saw a few friends, and experienced one of the greatest cities in the world.  Our friends from Taiwan were also there and treated us to an authentic Chinese dinner – not the traditional fare of most Chinese restaurants in the states.

We wrapped up the weekend this morning and started out for JFK bright and early.  As it turns out, our cab driver was new (VERY new) and not all that experienced.  If you’ve ever been in a cab in NYC, you know it can be a daunting experience even when you have a driver that’s qualified and proficient.  Today was just FRIGHTENING.  As we drove through the Manhattan Tunnel, we actually HIT the wall and slid down it for several feet!  He was so scared he wouldn’t go any faster than 35 mph on the Long Island Expressway. Keith and I had to keep asking him if he was okay. Keith noticed he never even looked at his rearview mirror or side mirrors.  Cars and trucks were honking their horns and with good reason – he was all over the road! We arrived in at the airport safely – a little rattled, but safe nonetheless.  The taxi itself was a little beat up.
