It’s hard for me to believe that it’s October already. I think back over the last few months and wonder where all those days went! I know we’ve been incredibly busy working on new illusions, designing new materials, editing new videos, etc. BUT, wow, the time seems to get away from us before we know it! It reminds me of a something James wrote in the Bible in chapter 4:

“And now I have a word for you who brashly accounce, ‘Today – at the latest, tomorrow – we’re off to such and such a city for the year. We’re going to start a business and make a lot of money.’ You don’t know the first thing about tomorrow. You’re nothing but a wisp of fog, catching a brief bit of sun before disappearing.”

As I look back over my summer – even my life – it seems like time is flying by. The “fog” is burning away with the morning sunlight. I’ve just returned from several meetings to plan our 2007/2008 touring year. I’m trying to plan events that are going to take place 12-18 months from now! That’s hard to even imagine.

I think the one thing the writer wants us to remember is pretty profound. Each new day we have is a gift. It’s not something that is owed to us by Anyone. At anytime, God can say that this is my last day on earth. Does that mean we shouldn’t make plans? I don’t think so. I think we should be wise. But, when we plan, we need to recognize that God holds each minute of every life.

We leave this week for our first show of October at the beautiful Majestic Theatre in Gettysburg, PA. It should be fun!
