Today was the last of the press conferences for our performances in Spain. This one was in San Sebastian, another beautiful city in the Basque region of Spain. And this is also the home of Ander who has been our host for the past several days. All of us were able to sleep in a bit this morning as we didn’t have to leave the hotel until 10:45am. Keith and I met Roland in the lobby of the hotel. Josune was also there and it was great to her again! Mr. Serrano was also there. He has been with us every day for each of the press conferences. I am so impressed with his commitment to these performances because I know he is a very busy man.
The drive to San Sebastian was panoramic. However, as we entered the city, the views were spectacular! I couldn’t resist getting a picture taken next to the crashing waves…and there were so many surfers on the water!
We arrived at the Kursaal, the theatre where we will be performing on Sunday night, and immediately entered the room where the media were waiting. I had the opportunity to do a few photographs with the three area newspapers and then sit down and answer questions with their respective reporters. We talked about the show, what the audience might expect to see, and then about the Healing of Magic program. I think it all went very well and each of the reporters expressed excitement about the show.
After the press conference, all of us went over to one of the leading radio stations in Spain for a live interview. Paula, my translator, did an excellent job of keeping up with me and delivering the energy of the show.
The Kursaal is the largest of the venues where we will perform with slightly more than 1800 seats. It is quite an impressive building that sits on the waters edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
At last glance, it appears tickets have sold well and there is a lot of interest in the show. I guess we’ll know more on Sunday!
