Today started early with a radio interview on Redding’s Talk Radio, KQMS. Â Jeff picked me up around 7:35am and we were on our way to the studio. Â The hosts of the show were great fun and we chatted about tomorrow’s show and the outreach program I was doing today. Â As we walked out of that studio, the host walked me across the hall so I could do another interview on the country station in the area. Â Ryan was also great fun!
After the interviews, Jeff drove Ethan and I over to the Cascade Theatre. Â This is a 1930’s restored theatre – beautiful and so unique. Â I’m always amazed that, no matter how many of these theatres I see, none of them are ever the same. Â It presents a few “challenges” because there is no wing space for some of our larger props. Â Jeff is very aware of all of that and is doing his best to work with Cindy to “make it happen.” Cindy is amazing at figuring out how to make it work – she’s the master of “space allocation.”
After a trip to the theatre, we were on our way to do a workshop for about 45 social service workers, therapists, their clients, and some of their family members. Â This started at 10am with an enthusiastic group. Â I can always tell that some people really wonder, “How can learning these magic tricks really help people?” And I’m always ecstatic to hear their responses afterwards, “This was one of the best educational programs I’ve been to in a long time.” Â I think everyone walked away having had a great time!
After the workshop, we went back to the hotel. Â Ethan is feeling a little under the weather, catching a cold in all the climate change and crazy schedule. Â Keith was busy advancing upcoming shows. Â Cindy and I decided to head out and pick up a few things, including some medication for Ethan.
We all just finished up having dinner together and going over some details for tomorrow’s performance. Â We are looking forward to a fun show in Redding!
