Yesterday we worked with a long time friend, Greg Diekroeger, in Stevens Point. Among other things, he coordinates the UWSP Performing Arts Series at the Sentry Theatre. We’ve been here a few times over the years. As a matter of fact, I met someone in the lobby after the show that was proud to tell me he was at our performance here 16 years ago! And the Sentry Theatre even had that poster hanging in the lobby…
We arrived earlier than normal because the cases would have to be put in an elevator and lowered to the stage. This typically makes load in a bit longer.
With this great crew, we were into the theatre in no time. The first load from the elevator was on the stage fast!
Once the cases made it to the stage, the day started…and moved quickly. The space was easy to work in and the crew was very accommodating. Literally, we were set and ready to go by dinner time – lights, sound, props…everything was good to go!
And I got a nice picture of Keith at the “master control” panel for the show. I’m not sure how he remembers what to do with all this stuff but I’m glad he does!
When it was time to open the doors, we had a fantastic sold out audience for this Thursday night performance. People of all ages made their way to their seats and the energy was palpable! When we finally did hit the stage, the crowd was right there. They responded to every illusion and the Walking Through A Wall got many audible gasps and spontaneous “no way” comments throughout. It was a fun performance and a great privilege to perform again on the stage of the Sentry Theatre.
Thank you Stevens Point for welcoming us back!
