So MUCH to write about! The show at the Stadium Theatre on Saturday was so much fun. The entire staff and crew of this venue were outstanding. It’s an old 1926 restored theatre – beautiful! Everyone we worked with was so proud of the space and you could sense the enthusiasm for their love of the arts. They did a great job with the marketing and the two interviews I did for local papers really paid off. When we arrived, we were well sold with only a few remaining tickets. By showtime, we were almost completely sold out.
The audience was amazing! This is the kind of audience you pray for at every show. They were with us from the first illusion and stayed with us until the very end – responding enthusiastically to each effect; eager to volunteer and experience the magic on stage with us; cheering, applauding and whistling their approval. From senior citizens to children, the audience was fantastic. We’ve already received several emails in the office from those who attended.
We had a short night of sleep after the show, rising early to head back to Virginia. We drove straight and steady for almost 13 hours to arrive home around 7pm. I repacked a suitcase, shifted items to the Jeep and took off for Abingdon, VA (where I am now) – another 3 hours down the road. I’m working with a wonderful group of people to pull together a DVD series for their organization. It’s an exciting project that shares some important concepts on how to experience the vibrant and incredible life that God has for each one of us and what it means to be a Christ-follower. It’s not the standard “religious fare” of the day, but a very exciting approach to the reality of knowing God in your life. I’ll keep you posted.
While I’m here, everyone else is back at the office pulling things together so we can head out on Wednesday for Pennsylvania!
