My day started early this morning with a live interview on Rock 102 in Springfield, MA. I had a great time with the hosts – fun interview that went on for about 15 minutes. We’ll be performing in Springfield next weekend – 2 shows on Saturday, November 10. Both shows are practically sold out. I think there might be a handful of tickets available for each show. This is that last push to sell out. I’ve done a couple of newspaper interviews for the area as well including one for the Springfield Republican which should run today.
I’m settling into my new MAC experience. There are still a few things that I’m struggling with but most of those have to do with different terminology between a Mac and a PC. I have to tell you though, it’s a great machine and I’m going to actually enjoy working on it rather than feel like I’m getting into a fight each time I turn my computer on! Once I get back into the office, I’ll work on making the big software transfers!
I have a couple of hours before we head over to The Centre so I’m going to grab a cup of coffee, answer a little email, and read a bit. I’ve been reading about “faith.” I’ll share some of my thoughts this weekend as we make the drive from Georgia to Massachusetts.

We arrived at the Centre, backed the truck to the loading dock and the “show day” began. This is a beautiful space with a great support team. From the executive director, Don, and down through the ranks EVERYONE is so professional, personable, friendly, and dedicated to making each event a success. The equipment literally rolled off the trailer and onto the stage in the experienced hands of the crew. The show went up fairly quickly and we were ahead of schedule early in the day. I hit a few snags with the intelligent lighting – they just weren’t so “intelligent” today but, with a little assistance, I got everything under control. Keith had to run our snake to the control booth in order to get control of our lighting and that’s always a bit of a task…but John and Tim took charge and made it happen.
Once everything was set, we did a quick tech run through for the new members of the crew and then off to the dressing rooms to get ready for the show. We had several guests coming tonight and the Centre told us it was going to be a nice “mix” crowd of families, seniors, and young adults – our favorite crowd.
The show went great. I could not have been more pleased with the technical aspects of the production! I think everything looks really, really good. Each illusion went off without a hitch and the audience was very responsive from the very first moment we took the stage. Great volunteers made for an even more fun experience for all of us. The show ended with a nice standing ovation from an appreciative audience – and a huge thanks for us for making the day so enjoyable!
Our guests were escorted to the Green Room by Keith and I had the chance to meet with them all briefly before heading to the lobby to meet the rest of the audience. The lobby was overwhelming. It is always so humbling and exciting to listen to the comments from members of the crowd. And I’m more excited when the adults out number the children who are waiting in line to talk. We had a wide range of ages but the adults were so complimentary and enthusiastic in sharing their appreciation for the performance. We are a very family-friendly show, but I want the adults to experience the “wonder” of magic in the same way their children do. It was encouraging to hear them talk about how much they enjoyed the show and comment on their favorite illusion.
After the show, we met up with John again at the local Waffle House. A great way to finish off our day!
This morning, we begin the journey to New England!
