Today was a good day! We had an excellent local crew to work with us. And the NED is a very nice venue – great stage and intimate space without a bad seat anywhere. Having a great crew is more than half the battle when it comes to putting up a show. And we’re in our 8th straight week on the road – tired and a little grumpy at times (perhaps) – and working with good people can take away some of the stress of being out here.
The audience was really wonderful and we had several magicians in the crowd tonight, including a dignitary from the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Mr. Richard Staub. We had a group of magicians from Memphis and from Nashville. We are always appreciative of the support from the area magicians. Thanks for being there tonight!
I had a chance to visit with many members of the audience (and the magicians) after the show. This is a valuable part of evaluating the show for me – listening to their feedback and hearing what they liked best. And it seems to be different almost every night! But when you’re touring with 12 tons of equipment – moving it in and out of a different theatre almost every day during our touring season – you want to make sure that you have a show that you not only enjoying performing, but that your audience enjoys watching!
We’re starting to wind down a bit, on the last leg of the tour. We’re off to Huntsville, AL tomorrow for an afternoon load in at the Von Braun Civic Center. We have two shows there on Saturday – at 2pm and 7pm – so a Friday set up will allow us to sleep in a little more on Saturday.
