We made good time yesterday from Parsons, KS to Alma, AR. It’s definitely not a long drive but we got a late start. I had a couple of interviews in the morning to finish up before we were able to head out. And, then, along the way, we really needed to find a truck tire center so we could buy a new trailer tire. This trip has been a brutal one on the truck this time – actually this entire tour has been a tough one on the truck. I’ve already called Tommy, our mechanic, to let him know there are a few things to repair – oil leak in the engine, brakes on the trailer, full service, steering linkage, etc.
Cindy and I did get to spend a little time together last night and have dinner at the local Cracker Barrel, next to our hotel in Alma. The tour has been so busy, it’s been very difficult for us to have any quality time on the road. Between driving, interviews, phone calls, emails, office work, setting up and performing, time has been at a premium.
I have an interview this morning with a radio station in Jackson for our performance there tomorrow night. Then a quick shower and everyone gets back in the truck to finish up the drive.
