We have successfully traveled from Alamogordo, NM to Santa Clarita, CA in the last couple of days. We are making very good time! Yesterday, we spent the night in Phoenix, AZ and had the chance to get together for dinner with Andre Kole and his lovely wife, Kathy.
We were up early this morning to drive from Phoenix to Santa Clarita – which meant a drive through the desert. I am completely captivated by the scenery in this part of the country. It has a unique beauty and some amazing sights…including hundred year old cactus that are huge! Temperatures have been awesome – 80’s and 90’s – and we’ve put on the shorts and sandals.
We made great time and arrived in California just in time for dinner. And next to the hotel was one of our favorite west coast burger joints – In & Out Burgers! We look forward to coming to this part of the country and these burgers are just one of the reasons!
In the morning, we begin the drive to Northern California. We know the temperatures will get a little cooler but the scenery will be amazing. We will pick up Ethan (one of the guys interested in the touring positions we have open) on Thursday in Portalnd and he’ll spend the weekend with us in Washington. We have three shows back-to-back – Friday in Longview; Satuday in Bothell (Seattle area); and Sunday in Tacoma.
